aloe vera: how to prepare & make juices!

Wondering how to prepare Aloe Vera properly? If so, this post is for you. Want to know what to use it for? I’m going to show you how to make 3 juices from it too!

Aloe Vera is a miracle plant, but surprisingly not many people I know know about it. I have experienced amazing results from using Aloe Vera so many times.

When my daughter got burnt from touching a hot pan in the kitchen, I was frightened but managed to cut a leaf from the Aloe Vera plant in my house and applied the gel on the burnt area.

I didn’t expect it to be a miracle cure, but it turned out that the burn healed very fast right after the gel dried out. The burn left only a light pink mark on her skin but was gone in a couple of days.

Then we were burnt again, when we all got a bad sunburn from playing by a lake during summer. We applied Aloe Vera gel and the burn was quickly relieved.aloe vera, lemon, honey & mint juice

Another time when we were living in Taiwan, my daughter was constipated. The teacher from school brought me some Aloe Vera leaves and told me to make juice for her to drink. I did, and that also worked like a miracle!.aloe vera & celery juice

These were enough good experiences for me to always keep an Aloe Vera plant at home.

Besides my own experiences above, there are so many other benefits we can get from using Aloe Vera.

So, I have created a few easy things that can be used and enjoyed at home. However, for this post I’m going to focus on how to prepare Aloe Vera properly, and turn the meat into 3 kinds of juices.aloe vera, carrot, apple, beet & ginger juice

Once you have the meat prepared, you can use it to create so many more things from. However, I’ll post more about those later, so be sure to check back!

Ready to give Aloe Vera a try? Let me show you how!

Ingredients & Equipmentaloe vera leaves

  1. An Aloe Vera leaf. You can buy both organic or non-organic easily from most grocery stores. Note: I only use one leaf at a time, but feel free to do as many leaves as you like.
  2. A bowl to put water in
  3. A sharp knife that you are comfortable working with

Ingredients for making juices: how to prepare & make aloe vera juices!

For Aloe Vera, lemon, honey & mint juice:

  1. A few pieces of Aloe Vera meat
  2. ¼ of a lemon
  3. 1 TBSP (15 g) honey or maple syrup
  4. 1 cup (240 ml) filtered water
  5. A few mint leaves

For Aloe Vera & celery juice:

For preparing the Aloe Vera gel meat.how to prepare aloe vera

  1. Use a clean washcloth to wipe the leaf. Be careful of the thorns.
  2. Prepare a bowl of water.
  3. Cut the leaf into chunks that you are comfortable working with. I find that 2-3 inche (5-7.5 cm) chunks work well for me.
  4. Cut the edges of each chunk and put them in a bowl to soak.cut the aloe vera thorns off
  5. Let them soak to bleed the alonin for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Dump the water, and rinse the Aloe Vera chunks a few times. Put them in a colander, and prepare another bowl of water.
  7. Use the knife to cut the skin from the curved side, with the chunk lying flat on the chopping board. Press the knife against the skin and fillet the meat.cut the curvy side of the aloe vera off firstpress the knife against the flat skin and fillet the aloe vera meat
  8. Remove all the green skin and put just the meat in the water, repeat until done.
  9. Dump the soak water and rinse the meat a few times.
  10. Now, you have the Aloe Vera meat. You can use it now, or keep it in the fridge. I like to prepare mine by cutting the chunks into smaller pieces. If you would like to do the same, continue to the next step.cut the aloe vera meat into small pieces
  11. Cut the gel meat into smaller pieces of about 1 inch (2.5 cm) and put them in a container. I usually use it within 3-4 days. However, to make sure to get the best results, I try to use it quickly.
